Did I do right thing?

Ok I'm thirteen I'm in my friends backyard but he's not there only his little brother Who's 10 his grandma is sitting there talking to him when all of a sudden some kid randomly throws a rock at him knocking him out kid was bigger than me I walked up to him like wtf is you damn problem? He's like "ahhh" **** off he pushes my head back I run up to him tackle him to the floor and land too punches he kicks me in the groin then get the wood part of broom smacking me in the head I start bleeding he runs off should I have reacted this way???
