How to close a small gap between outer metal rim/shell of laptop to the casing?

My laptop's front edge has a small gap where the metal rim flexes away from the body creating a gap. I think this gap will grow with wear and tear and I am wondering what are ways to close the gap either gluing the outer edge to the body, so it won't flex or filling it in. I have an hp pavilion dv6t quad edition 6195ca. Should I just exchange for a new one? What if bestbuy is out of stock?
